Newsletters from Val at Kalizo Lodge
Each month Val sends out a newsletter to tell our clients what's happening in the Caprivi - at Kalizo your favourite African bush experience, fishing and birding lodge. Each letter is brim full of humour, interesting happenings, results of the fishing competitions run from here, and loads of other bits and pieces. If you would like to sign up for our newsletters and keep abreast of what's on at Kalizo, please fill in the form on your left, or mail us You can keep abreast of what's up with Val (aka Bruno), hear her news bulletins about non-human visitors to the lodge, be they birds, animals or unusual fish being caught and released according to their policy... or let her tell you about the rare inconsiderate clients who burn the bedroom furnishings, or lose items from the self-catering kitchens....

JANUARY 2009 Dear All,
Well here we are with the year 2008 finished. Can you believe that.?
From all of us at Kalizo, we wish you all the very best for 2009. We have had some good rains. In November we had 155ml, this being the highest in 11 years, In December we had 236ml second highest in 11 years. So far this month it has been 119ml-less than last years 395ml. So unless it rains heavily (which we hope it won’t) for the next few days, we will be way under last years record and many years before this. |

SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2008Dear All, Well here we are again, with summer already started - very early and very hot. The July and September South African school holidays have come and gone and Kalizo was very, very busy. We had a record number in our camp with 180 people on the Thursday and lo and behold on the Friday there were even more with a new record of 195 folk in the camp. 32 in the chalets and the remainder in the campsite. The weather was great, cool in the evening with lovely days, so hopefully a good time was had by all. Our new ablution block was in full operation and many said it was the best that they had seen and used. With the three ablutions we had no problem with the greater amount of guests in camp. |

We have many new guests, who are requesting that we give a little information when we send out our next news letter, so here goes. |
