HAIL SIR OSIS OF THE RIVER!

The idea of Sir Osis of the River - floating pleasure craft - was hatched by Rob and Dan Sparg in 2006, as an extension to the rustic yet comfortable, truly African Bush Experience already offered at Kalizo Lodge.

Built with loving attention to the ultimate objective, the Spargs welded two steel pontoons together to create a floating platform from which to luxuriate in the mighty Zambezi River's charms.

Here you will find no expensive opulence, just the simple, comfortable basics in genuine African style.

Buiding the Sir Osis of the River

Sir Osis of the River offers the freedom to explore the birding, take a fishing trip in comfort. We have a host of delicious ideas to offer the keen guest.

Sir Osis' design delivers guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partake fully in the pleasures and lifestyle of the mighty Zambezi River.

On the Zambezi River with Kalizo Lodge and the Sir Osis Up to 30 people at a time can take a sunset/booze cruise and get totally involved in Zambezi life, spending time drifting downriver in the comfort of Sir Osis' arms, with experienced staff who love nature and are well versed in the ways of the River.

UNIQUELY Sir Osis of the River offers tailormade, lowcost, riverine camping adventures. For minimum of 3 days, four to six people can design their own adventure.

Early dawn on the Zambezi River with Kalizo Lodge Revel in the sensual delights of floating quietly past indigenous fishermen in their makoros, observing village life, cattle, children splashing at the river's banks, seeing elephants, hippo's and crocs, not to mention the wealth of bird life that inhabits the vegetation along the banks. Fish along the way, or just relax and let our staff take care of you.

Rob, Cindy and staff will take you where you want to go, stopping when you wish to stop. Morning tea and rusks, brunch, and an afternoon snack are offered and an assortment of liquid refreshments are available.

Zambezi Sandbank Lifestykle

At days end, experience the intense peace and silence, clean air, sounds of nature, magnificent sunsets and dawns and star-drenched African skies from the unique perspective of your very own unpopulated sandbank. Hear the sound of the fish eagle and the African drums.

Camping at the Zambezi River Our special Zambezi tents offer privacy, safety and the comfort of proper mattresses and bedding. Sit around the campfire at night, sharing the observed delights of the day and then enjoy a two course dinner around a table in the 'gazebo', or a 'braaivleis' before retiring to your spacious tent. Self catering is also an option.
